Mason jars are becoming more and more popular for vintage décor and weddings, but they are also a versatile packaging material for homemade gifts. Try these quick and easy mason jar gift recipes for friends and family this holiday season. Check out the gallery below for photos!

Toffee Cookie Bars

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 3/4 cup Heath chips

Layer all ingredients in quart-size mason jar, wrap with ribbon or fabric, tie on recipe card, and gift! The recipient will need to add 1/4 c. melted butter, 2 eggs and 1 tsp. vanilla, and bake for 25-30 min. at 350 degrees.

Easy Hand Scrub

  • 2 cups granulated white sugar
  • 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • Oil from 2 Vitamin E capsules (optional)
  • 5 drops of your favorite essential oil (could also use 1/2 tsp. vanilla, almond or
  • peppermint extract, or 1 Tbsp. lemon juice. The scent is the fun part!)

Mix sugar, oils and scent until it resembles a gritty paste. Spoon into 8 or 12-oz. mason jars and tie with ribbon and a vintage teaspoon. To use, stir well, put 1 tsp. into wet hands and scrub.

Peppermint Stick Cocoa

  • 1 cup powdered milk
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup crushed candy canes

Layer all ingredients in quart-size mason jar, tie with ribbon and a peppermint stick, and add recipe card. To use, combine all ingredients in large bowl, mixing well. Add 1/3 c. mix to 1 c. boiling water and stir until chocolate and peppermint are mostly dissolved. Store unused portion in the jar or other airtight container. For regular cocoa, add more chocolate chips and leave out the peppermint candy.
