A bit more on the serious side, this is a fascinating read and great gift idea for that hard-to-buy-for person. Tom Brokaw’s opinion is that “Political junkies, historians, psychologists and Main Street citizens will find the tales of friendship, envy, conspiracy, competition and common cause irresistible.” Gibbs and Duffy created an amazing history of the private relationships among modern American presidents – their backroom deals, rescue missions, secret alliances and enduring rivalries.
